Mohali’s Excise & Taxation dept office upgraded

Almost four years after attaining the status of district headquarters,Mohali’s Excise and Taxation department office has been upgraded.

Almost four years after attaining the status of district headquarters,Mohali’s Excise and Taxation department office has been upgraded. From the present dingy site in Phase II,the upgraded office has been shifted to a spacious rented accommodation covering two adjoining SCOs near Army Institute of Law in Sector 68,Mohali.

The new office would provide a computerised single window service for filing returns and processing other official documentation work in a simplified manner,said Assistant Excise and Taxation Commissioner Baldeep Kaur.

Besides,a waiting area for dealers and counsels would also be provided at the new office,which would have 10 Excise and Taxation Officers and 17 each Excise and Taxation Inspectors (regular and under training).

All these facilities were not available at the present office due to space constraints,she added.
