Mohali police Friday attached the property of Canada-based Lakhbir Singh Landa who is allegedly running a terror network. The property has been attached in connection with a rocket propelled grenade (RPG) attack on the headquarters of Punjab Police’s intelligence wing in Sector 77.
In his native Kirian village in Tarn Taran, Landa’s four kanal land has been attached by the district police. He has already been declared a Proclaimed Offender (PO) in the case by the district court.
DSP (City-2) Harsimran Singh Bal said that the property had been attached in continuation of the drive against the radical elements, who have been running the terror network from other countries. He said that Landa is the main accused in the RPG attack case and is an active member of the Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF).
“So far we have presented the challan against 13 accused in this case and one one of them was recently arrested. Two more people will be nominated in the case soon,” Bal added.
The attack had happened in May 2021 when two men had fired an RPG at the intelligence headquarters, causing damage to the building. The attack had happened at late evening at a time when nobody was present in the area.
The district court had also permitted the district police to treat a minor accused in the case as a major and his trial will be conducted in the district court instead of the juvenile court.
