Preparations for the Dussehra festival in Sector 79, Mohali, scheduled for October 2, are in full swing.

A review meeting was held under the leadership of club president Kuldeep Singh Samana. General secretary Phoolraj Singh said that this year, effigies will include a 100-foot Ravan, 75-foot Meghnad and Kumbhkaran, and a 50-foot figure representing corruption and drug abuse, all of which will be ceremoniously burned on the day of the event. “This year, a special ‘Sri Lanka’ replica has also been created near the effigies, and floats brought from Delhi and Rajasthan will be a major attraction,” he said.

The parade of floats will begin from the temple in Sector 80, pass along the Airport Road in front of CP-67 Mall, and conclude at the Dussehra venue in Sector 79. Ravan and Hanuman’s armies will display their prowess, while seating arrangements have been organised to accommodate large crowds comfortably.
