A Mohali court has allowed to conduct polygraph test on six of the seven police officers in a case pertaining to the interview of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi from Punjab jail. The said officers, including an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) and five constables, were stationed at the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA), Mohali, when the interview of the jailed gangster took place. Earlier, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Anti-Narcotics Task Force, Nilabh Kishore, appeared in court and submitted the request to conduct the tests on Sub-Inspector Jagatpal Jaggu, ASI Mukhtiar Singh, Constables Simranjeet Singh, Harpreet Singh, Balwinder Singh, Satnam Singh, and Amritpal Singh. The ADGP submitted written consent of the six of the seven policemen for the polygraph test. Sources said that the polygraph tests are expected to be conducted within this week. In March last year, a private news channel ran two interviews of Bishnoi. The first interview was conducted on the premises of CIA (crime investigating agency) staff, Kharar which falls in the jurisdiction of SAS Nagar, Mohali. The second interview was conducted when Bishnoi was lodged in Central Jail in Jaipur, according to the probe by the SIT, which submitted its report to the Punjab and Haryana High Court in July in a suo motu matter related to the use of mobile phones by inmates on jail premises.
