Milk to cost more from today

The Punjab State Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation has decided to increase milk prices by Re 1 per litre from Monday.

The Punjab State Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation (Milkfed) has decided to increase milk prices by Re 1 per litre from Monday.

With the hike,full cream milk will cost Rs 25 from Rs 24 per litre,double-toned milk Rs 21 and single-toned milk Rs 23 per litre.

The rates of premium milk (Verka Gold) have been increased by Rs 2 a litre. It will be available at Rs 28 per litre.

The price of cheese has also been increased by Rs 2 — a 200-gram packet will cost Rs 31.

The new rates will be applicable in Punjab,Chandigarh,Himachal Pradesh and Haryana.

The hike comes after six months — in June last year,Milkfed had raised prices by Re 1 a litre.
