MCM DAV dedicates fest to green environment

The chief guest on the occasion was Special Secretary to the Punjab Government and former Deputy Commissioner,Mohali,Rahul Bhandari. He appreciated the efforts of the college and urged the students to understand that technological development is extremely significant but not at the cost of the environment. The Mayor of the city,Kamlesh,was the guest of honor at the event and congratulated the college on its treatment towards issues,which are of primary relevance today.

The festival included various activities highlighting environmental issues like global warming,pollution,eco friendly technology,space pollution,eco-tourism,wet habitat,global climate change and the like. The event saw an exhibition by Punjab Energy Development Agency to instruct the students about issues related to energy conservation and optimisation. A book exhibition and sale was also organised in the campus.

The principal of the college,Dr Puneet Bedi stressed upon the significance of such events and encouraged the students to be the flag-bearers of the revolution to spread environmental knowledge. She insisted upon the global responsibility of conserving the eco-system and called for an active implementation of environment-friendly measures in our daily lives.

The event included various competitions,which attracted a huge response and participation from students of various colleges.
