Mayor inspects Manimajra dispensaries,schools

City mayor Raj Bala Malik on Tuesday inspected schools and dispensaries in Manimajra,that have been transferred to the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation. She was accompanied by Sunil Bhatia,additional commissioner,B K Salwan,MOH and officials of the health and engineering wings of the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation.

As part of the inspection,registers like the attendance register,inventory register and patient register maintained by the staff of a dispensary in Manimajra were checked. The stock of medicines available with the pharmacist was also inspected. Emergency kits were checked and the dispensary staff were issued directions to maintain them as per the standard specifications.

The staff were also directed to maintain proper standards of hygiene and sanitation within the premises. The officials of the engineering wing of MCC were asked to take necessary steps to carry on repair works required in the schools and dispensary. The officials were also directed to ensure proper maintenance of the green areas within the schools and dispensary and surroundings.

During the visit to the school,the mayor also checked the mid-day-meal scheme and instructed the staff to maintain proper hygiene during distribution of the meal to students.
