Masterplan: UT seeks two more weeks to file status report

The Chandigarh Administration,on Monday,sought time from Punjab and Haryana High Court to file status report with regard to the completion of master plan for City Beautiful.

Senior standing counsel for UT Administration,Sanjay Kaushal,contended that the status report will be prepared and submitted to the High Court by January 31. The Administration sought two weeks time to submit the report.

Kaushal apprised the High Court that certain recommendations made by the heritage committee of the Administration have been accepted by the Central government and that the Administration will submit the status report within two weeks.

The development took place during the resumed hearing of a Public Interest Litigation seeking directions to Administration for effective and quick completion of the master plan.
