With their first win after three losses on a trot, Kings XI Punjab will be hoping to hit fine form ahead. And with the arrival of Australian Shaun marsh, top run-getter in IPL I with 616 runs, the Punjab team will hope that things turn around for them in the third edition.

The 26-year-old cricketer from Western Australia was the highest run-getter in the first edition of IPL and missed the second edition of the IPL due to hamstrings problems.

This year too,Marsh’s injury woes continued as he suffered back spasms during a warm-up session before the third Australia-West Indies ODI last month, and the injury was later diagnosed as bulging disc.

“It was unfortunate to miss out on playing during last year and the back spasm meant that I was out from the game in the beginning of this year too. But I have recovered fully from the injury and I want to repeat my form in first edition of IPL. Kevin Sims,Australian physiotherapist, has given me a go-ahead and I am looking forward to perform better this time,” says Marsh.

The left-handed batsman, who is nicknamed Sos by teammates, also believes that it is more easy playing IPL matches than international cricket, and he hopes he will get into the rhythm soon.

“IPL is bit relaxed than ODI’s or Tests and it will make it easy for me after the injury. We have a new captain in Kumar Sangakkara and I am looking forward to play under him. He is a very intelligent player and interacts a lot with fellow players. I hope we will win more matches soon,” he said.

March still remembers his performance in the first edition of IPL and says the performance certainly boosted his confidence for playing for Australia . “I was nobody when I was signed by Kings XI Punjab but a fine performance in IPL-I meant that I was picked for Australia in the national side and it boosted my confidence a lot,” says Marsh.
