Man shoots son after argument

Shamsher Singh (37),a resident of Choohi village under Renuka tehsil of Sirmour district,was shot dead by his father Ranbir Singh (60),at his residence on Wednesday morning reportedly after an argument over a land dispute. After killing his son,the accused surrendered at the Renuka police station. Briefing the media,Nahan Deputy Superintendent of Police Babita Rani Rana said the accused went to the house of his son and asked him why he did not attend the marriage of his nephew at the adjoining village. On this,Shamsher questioned about the division of a land,which took the shape of a heated argument,when Ranbir took out his gun and shot his son,killing him on the spot. Rana said the police had seized the gun and registered a case and Ranbir. Shamsher is survived by his wife,two minor daughters and a son.
