Man hacked to death in Karnal dist,body thrown on the road

A young man was hacked to death in Nisangh village in Haryana’s Karnal district on Monday night. Following the murder,the assailants had thrown the body on the street and reportedly threatened the villagers not to touch it. On Tuesday morning,the victim’s father and brother discovered his body lying on the road.

According to the police,the incident took place late in the night,when deceased Gurmej Singh was allegedly wayled by a villager,Buta Singh,his two sons and their wives. “While Gurmej Singh,who works as a helper in a sweet shop,was returning home,he was allegedly stopped by Buta Singh. Both entered into an altercation owing to some old enmity. Buta Singh’s relatives joined in and they all attacked Gurmej with sharp-edged weapons and killed him,” said Sub-Inspector Ishwar Singh,the investigating officer of the case.

He added: “Finally,Gurmej’s father Raja Ram and his younger son Sandeep,discovered the body this morning and informed us. The postmortem examination has been conducted. As per the doctors,Gurmej died because of grievous injuries inflicted with some sharp-edged weapons on his head.”

Gurmej’s father Raja Ram,in his complaint to the police,had alleged that Buta Singh and his family had been nursing a grudge against him and his three sons.
