A man received bullet injury after his 9-year old son allegedly opened fire accidentally while playing with licenced weapon. Police said that Daljit Singh alias Jeeta from Akalgarh Khurd village of Raikot was admitted to a private hospital in Ludhiana after a bullet hit him. Sources said that Daljit with his wife and 9-year old son were travelling in a car and going to meet a relative when the child, who was playing with Daljit’s licensed weapon, accidentally opened fire. The Ludhiana rural police initiated an investigation. However, ASI Sukhwinder Singh, incharge Lohatbaddi police post (under Sadar Raikot police station) said that the injured man wasn’t in condition to record his statement and will undergo a surgery. “According to preliminary information, his son accidentally opened fire from his licensed weapon but we are yet to record his statement. Only then it will be clear under what circumstances firing happened,” said the ASI.
