With the arrest of four persons,the Moga police on Sunday claimed to have solved a blind murder case that took place in September.

Those arrested include the victim’s brother,who had allegedly paid Rs 10 lakh to two contract killers to murder of his brother in a bid to usurp his property. They have been identified as Rajan,Lakwinder Singh,Jagsir Singh and Rinku.

In September,the railway police had found a body lying on the tracks near Bhugti bypass. An FIR was lodged by the General Railway Police while an investigation was also initiated by the Punjab Police.

“The body was identified as that of Vikas Sharma. On October 5,Rajan Sharma,Vikas’s younger brother,told us that some unidentified persons had beaten him up and showed him a clipping of his brother’s murder. We registered a case. However,Rajan’s story had loopholes and during questioning,he confessed to the murder,” SP(D) Satpal Singh Bhangoo said.

Rajan said one Lakhw-inder Singh alias Lakhi,who worked in a nearby shop,provoked him to get his brother murdered for property.
