A Faridkot court Monday rejected the demand of counsel of former Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal and former Punjab deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal in which they had sought a copy of challan filed in the court in Kotkapura firing case.

The court stated that copies will be provided to all the accused on March 23, the day of hearing of the case.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT), led by ADGP L K Yadav, had filed a chargesheet in Kotkapura firing case on February 24 in Faridkot court. On March 6, the court of judicial magistrate first class Ajaypal Singh had issued a notice against eight people mentioned in the chargesheet to be present before the court on March 23.

The Badals through their counsel Shiv Kartar Singh Sekhon had filed an application of anticipatory bail which will be heard in the court of Rajiv Kalra, additional sessions judge, Faridkot, on March 14.
