Kaul Singh Thakur,who has been recently elected as president of Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee would take formal charge of his second term on November 10 at a mega function likely to be attended by Union Minister of Commerce Anand Sharma and Union Minister of Steel Virbhadra Singh. A party spokesperson on Monday said the party office bearers from across the state,AICC members from the state and district party heads would be present. Senior leaders,party MLAs and Union Cabinet Ministers Anand Sharma and Virbhadra Sing have also been given invitations for the function. Kaul Singhs emergence as a leader is a signal that the party high command is looking for a new leadership in Himachal Pradesh,a state which is gradually slipping out of its hands and BJPs growing base in the rural areas of state,especially Hamirpur Mandi,Kullu and Una districts.
