Kalka MLA’s nephew arrested in attempt to murder case

The police have arrested Karun Chaudhary,nephew of Kalka MLA Pradeep Chaudhary and son of former Municipal Council president,along with his accomplice Robin,from a Sector-14 market on Saturday.

Karun has been booked in an attempt to murder case under Section 377 for assaulting a police constable. A hunt for their third accomplice,a resident of Chandigarh,is still on,Inspector Aman Kumar said.

The two accused were produced in a local court and sent to judicial custody in Ambala jail till Monday.

Karun Chaudhary had allegedly attacked Sagar on January 1 with a sharp-edged weapon. Two friends of the cop were also injured in the incident. Sagar was transferred to Kaithal a few days after the incident.
