The ongoing Jat agitation in Hisar turned violent on Tuesday after clashes between protesters and the Haryana police at Ramayan village in Hisar district left more than two dozen people,including police personnel,injured. Tension is mounting in Hisar and various other parts of Haryana,where the Jat protestors are camping along the rail tracks,causing disruption to train services. Major rail and road disruption is likely to be witnessed in many parts of Haryana as the agitated Jat protestors have started gathering in many parts of Haryana to launch a massive agitation from Wednesday. The Haryana Police on Tuesday forcibly picked up protesters from rail-tracks in Ramayan village while they were sleeping along the rail track. Jat leaders including senior AIJASS leader Dharampal and Ram Bhagat Malik were picked up from their houses at about 3 am on Tuesday. The Jat protestors were also cane-charged by the police. The police action began at about 2.30 am,and carried on for two hours. Reacting to the polices action,a large number of Jat protestors started gathering at the protest-site and blocked the rail track. The agitated Jats resorted to stone pelting and attacked the police personnel with rods,sickles and other weapons forcing the police to resort to water cannons and tear gas to disperse the agitated mob. While none of the senior Jat leaders were available for comments in the evening; tension started mounting in Hisar and various other districts of Haryana. Late in the evening,a large number of Jats started camping in districts of Fatehabad,Sirsa,Bhiwani,Hisar,Sonepat,Karnal,Panipat,Jind and various other districts of Haryana. The traffic on Hisar-Delhi road was also diverted in the morning as a precautionary measure.
