Stating that the Congress failed to fulfill its promises,the Janata Party on Friday extended support to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Local unit president Ajay Jagga said the reasons for backing the BJP was the poor performance of the Congress-led UPA government,of local MP Pawan Kumar Bansal and UPAs response on the issue of Ram Setu. Inflation has been at an all-time high,prices of commodities are not coming down,people have not got adequate compensation for land acquisition,Lal Dora has not been extended and the development of the city has been hampered by the infighting between the Administrator and Bansal, Jagga added. Reacting to the statement of the Congress that the BJP was undermining the office of the Prime Minister,BJP candidate Satya Pal Jain said commenting on the performance of a person in the ruling party is the prerogative and duty of the opposition.
