At least five persons were injured, one of them suffered bullet injuries, in a clash of two groups at a wedding ceremony in Ludhiana's Tibba area late Saturday night, police said on Sunday. Police registered an FIR against three named accused, Sarabjot Singh, Manpreet Singh and Sahil, and their unidentified aides. The trio suffered injuries and were admitted to the Civil Hospital. Police said complainant Bikramjit Singh suffered a bullet injury, and his friend Sunil also got injured, while others suffered injuries inflicted by sharp-edged weapons. Tibba police station SHO Inspector Kulwinder Singh said, “Members of both groups, known to each other, were attending the wedding on Saturday night. Sarabjot, Manpreet, Sahil and their associates were puffing hookah in the wedding when someone recorded their videos and circulated them on different WhatsApp groups.” “Sarabjot suspected Bikramjit of circulating videos, and a spat ensued. Things turned ugly when Sarabjot's aides intervened, and soon a violent scuffle ensued. They assaulted each other with sharp-edged weapons,” the SHO said. The SHO said, “Manpreet, Sarabjot and Sahil flashed a gun and opened fire. Three of the bullets hit Bikramjit, and panic gripped the whole area. The injured persons were rushed to the hospital. Upon receiving information, police reached the spot and initiated an investigation.” “A hunt is on to arrest all accused persons. We are scanning videos of the wedding,” the officer added.
