Last year when Meenakshi Shedde attended the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival,in Prague,Czech Republic, she was impressed with the way this festival attracted young audience. This year, she is thrilled to return as a jury member. The Karlovy Vary film festivals held in Central and Eastern Europe is highly patronised by the youth who have the option of camping, hiring bicycles for travelling around and even a safe to keep their valuables, says Shedde, who is a Mumbai-based film curator and critic. She has been Indias consultant to the Berlin and Dubai film festivals. Other jurors of the festival include Polish director-writer Agnieszka Holland,Frederic Boyer, artistic director of the Tribeca Film Festival and Peruvian director Claudia Llosa, whose film The Milk of Sorrow won the Berlin film festivals Golden Bear. The festival is on from June 28 to July 6. The other Indian connections with the festival, organised at the beautiful spa city of Europe, are the screening of Ritesh Batra-directed Lunchbox and Dredd,a dystopian film by Pete Travis. The latter is co-produced by Reliance Entertainment.
