Himalayan bikers land in heritage Kullu village

It was the turn of Kullu Sarahan village - Kullu’s lesser known cousin - to hog the limelight on Tuesday as more than 60 bikers and cyclists participating in the nine-day Hercules MTB-2011 rally reached the place and spent the entire day with village residents.

The organisers have set up tents and other infrastructure for the two-night stay with the locals. “ We had a meeting with the villagers led by local Gram panchayat Pradhan Nain Thakur ,who was a good host while welcoming the bikers”,said Mohit Sood,president of the Himalayan Adventure Sports and Tourism Promotion Association.

“During the day participants went around the village to stage street plays and theatre acts to spread the message of environment protection”,he added.
