The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Wednesday issued notices to Baba Farid University of Health Sciences and director of health and family welfare department on a petition seeking directions to the Punjab government to not recommend those medical officers against whom departmental or vigilance enquiry is pending for the Post Graduate Entrance Test (PGET) counselling scheduled for April 4.
The high court also issued notices to 14 doctors made respondents in the petition. These doctors,the petitioner alleged,figure in the illegal selection of doctors made by the PPSC two years ago. Following a probe ordered by the Punjab government,the state Vigilance Bureau had indicted all serving members of the PPSC.
