The Revolutionary Marxist Party of India (RMPI) has condemned the communal conflagration in Haryana’s Nuh and Gurugram areas, causing the death of five people and incidents of arson.
In a statement issued from the party’s Jalandhar office, RMPI general secretary Comrade Mangat Ram Pasla on Wednesday said this wave of communal violence has spread from Nuh to Gurugram and, if not curbed with responsibility and righteous intent, it may escalate and affect not only Haryana but also various other regions in northern India.
The Sangh Parivar and the BJP-led Haryana government are mainly responsible for the ongoing violence, as right-wing extremist organizations like Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal were actively promoting a hate propaganda campaign in the name of a religious pilgrimage, Comrade Pasla added.
In the statement, the party appealed to the people of Haryana to maintain peace, promote brotherhood, and identify and reject those elements that are involved in creating disharmony in society. The party also expressed its solidarity with all progressive forces resisting this dangerous government’s agenda and standing united against its oppressive policies.
