Haryana Police neutralised 13 dangerous criminals in 110 encounters since Jan 2024

Police registered FIRs in 29 cases of fake passports, leading to the cancellation of 21 passports.The Haryana Police has neutralised 13 dangerous criminals in 110 encounters conducted since January 2024, while 156 criminals suffered injuries — Director General of Police Shatrujeet Kapur was apprised at a two-day high-level meeting of senior police officers from across the state being held at Madhuban to review and strategise law and order, crime control and police welfare measures. With women’s safety and victim counselling among top priorities, the state police chief focused on a comprehensive action plan aimed at improving public safety, combating violent crime and leveraging modern technology in policing.
“DGP Kapur directed senior officers to personally oversee investigations into crimes against women and ensure victims receive proper counselling. He warned that repeated harassment of women by accused persons, even after their release from jail, would be dealt with severely. The meeting highlighted a 16 to 25 per cent decline in major crimes against women, such as rape, attempted rape, kidnapping, molestation, and dowry deaths in 2025 compared to the previous year (from January 1 to August 31). DGP Kapur lauded the police for this progress and the dedicated efforts of officers,” a state police department’s spokesperson said.
“To enhance women’s security, 46 DSRF vehicles have been integrated with Dial 112 services, and a dedicated women’s ‘Durga Battalion’ with 540 personnel has been established at Sunaria, Rohtak. Sensitive hotspots prone to harassment have been identified, with CCTV cameras installed and increased patrolling to ensure safety,” the spokesperson said.
DGP Kapur emphasised strengthening district sealing plans to prevent violent crimes and called for strict enforcement of duties by officers on Emergency Response Vehicles (ERVs) and Police Control Room vehicles (PCRs) to promptly stop and arrest criminals.
“Since January 1, 2024, the Haryana Police has conducted 110 encounters, resulting in the neutralisation of 13 dangerous criminals and injuries to 156 others. Coordination with central agencies led to the extradition of nine notorious criminals. Additionally, 70 lookout circulars and 27 red corner notices have been issued.
Police registered FIRs in 29 cases of fake passports, leading to the cancellation of 21 passports. Efforts to curb organised crime and its online glorification have resulted in the removal of 54 objectionable songs and the closure of numerous criminal social media accounts,” the police spokesperson added.

The campaign aims to identify such usurers, initiate strict legal action, and attach their illegal assets. Public awareness initiatives will also be conducted to protect citizens from falling prey to these exploiters.
DGP Kapur directed Station House Officers (police stations in-charge) to take proactive steps to declare villages and wards drug-free, recommending the formation of motivated teams and coordination with drug control authorities, medical associations, chemists and pharmacists. He also called for stringent action against drug traffickers, including legal attachment of their properties.
Reviewing cybercrime control efforts, DGP Kapur acknowledged commendable police work but stressed the need to improve recovery of defrauded amounts. Officers were instructed to arrest maximum cyber criminals and break their morale through strict enforcement. The DGP said accident victims should be transported directly to trauma hospitals to receive critical treatment within the golden hour, potentially saving lives.
Eligible victims should receive free cashless treatment up to Rs 1.5 lakh under the Government of India’s scheme. He directed officers that monthly road safety meetings must be held in every district, with strict enforcement against drunk driving and issuance of challans. Tough action was directed against fraudulent agents involved in illegal immigration, with efforts to maximise financial recovery for victims.
