Aimed at ensuring holistic development of Muslim-dominated areas in southern Haryana, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar Tuesday launched 157 projects worth Rs 1,279 crore and laid the foundation stone of 190 projects worth Rs 1,462 crore through video conferencing in Ferozepur Jhirka, Nuh.

The chief minister announced four new drinking water projects for 66 villages of Nuh constituency worth Rs 306 crore. He also announced the construction of a road from Nuh to Mundaka village which will start in November and also announced to increase drinking water capacity from 55 LPCD (litre per capita demand) to 70 LPCD in 80 villages of Ferozepur Jhirka.

“Today’s projects have not only augmented the pace of development that has been going on for the past eight and a half years but have also made this day historic. Even before this, the inauguration and foundation stone of development projects across the state have been laid six times through digital means, due to which more than 1,100 projects worth about Rs 12,500 crore were gifted to the state. If we add the cost of Rs 2,741 crore of these projects inaugurated today, then the total cost becomes Rs 15,000 crore. Thus, inaugurating and laying the foundation stone of projects on such a large scale from one place digitally is a great example of e-governance, which has also saved time and money,” Khattar said.

The chief minister said that Nuh district’s biggest project is the rain well-based drinking water scheme that will benefit the people of the Ferozepur Jhirka area. This project will prevent water shortages and improve infrastructure, as people previously had to even pay for getting drinking water during ‘Roza’, CM Khattar said.

“The area even did not have enough water to meet irrigation needs. However, with the inauguration of this rain well-based drinking water scheme, people will no longer have to worry for water. The state government has accelerated development throughout the state. PM Narendra Modi at the Centre and the state government has not left any sector behind in terms of development,” Khattar added.

The chief minister also highlighted that Nuh district of Haryana was also among the backward districts identified across the country. “But the district saw unprecedented development in the last eight and a half years. Now, we cannot call this district a backward district for any reason. The Delhi-Mumbai corridor is passing through the Nuh district. Due to this corridor, industries will come up in this area, which will provide employment opportunities to the youth,” CM Khattar said.

Taking a dig at the previous governments, Khattar said that there was corruption, and nepotism in the previous government. “Our government eliminated it all. Earlier the rights of the poor person were snatched away. I assure you that now the injustice done to any poor person will not be tolerated. Our government has laid emphasis on six S ie; ‘Shiksha, Swasthya, Suraksha, Swabhiman, Swavalamban, and Sushasan’ (which means education, health, security, self-respect, self-reliance, and good governance),” he claimed while adding that the law and order situation in Haryana is intact. “Every person considers himself safe and as a result of this, today the people of the world look towards Haryana to invest. Haryana has become their favourite investment destination,” he said.

CM Khattar said that in the last eight and a half years, over 1 lakh appointments have been made in the government sector. “A total of 35 lakh people of the state have got employment opportunities including these one lakh government jobs,” Khattar added.

The CM said that his government has given the highest compensation to farmers in the history of Haryana.

“The state government is providing 24-hour electricity to 5,600 villages. Many governments came and gave slogans about providing 24-hour electricity but no one could cover more than 150 villages. It is expected that by the end of this year, all the 6,200 villages of Haryana will have 24-hour electricity,” Khattar said.
