(Express File Photo) Gurgaon Police Saturday said that they will bring Mohit Yadav alias Monu Manesar on a production warrant for the attempted murder case registered at the Pataudi police station. Police said he will be brought on September 26 and they will decide how long he will be in their custody once investigation begins.
Monu, a resident of Manesar, was arrested by Haryana Police and later taken into custody by Rajasthan Police in a criminal case. He is currently detained in Bharatpur District Jail, Rajasthan. Monu is also facing charges under sections 147, 148, 149, 120B, 307, 201 IPC in a case registered at the Pataudi police station.
“In this case, on Saturday, the honourable court has issued a production warrant to investigate the aforementioned charges. The accused will be brought to the Pataudi police station on September 25, 2023, as per the orders of the honourable court, for further investigation and due legal proceedings,” said a statement by the Gurgaon police.
The case dates back to February 6 clash in Haryana’s Pataudi between two communities following an elopement. Four people had suffered injuries in the incident, including Mohin Khan, 20, who suffered a gunshot wound.
In his complaint, Mohin’s father Mubin Khan stated that his son was out to purchase groceries when an unknown person shot at him. Mohin’s uncle alleged that there were Bajrang Dal members around carrying guns.
Police had said they did not take action against Monu in this case because the complaint was withdrawn and quashing of FIR was sought from the court.
