Govt: Remove unused furniture in secretariat

The General Administration Departiment of the Punjab government has issued strict orders to immediately remove the unwanted and unused furniture and almirahs dumped in the corridors and balconies of Punjab Civil Secretariat within seven days.

A spokesperson of the government said that it had been found that many almirahs and furniture items not being used had been dumped in the corridors/balconies of Civil Secretariat which marred the look of the building apart from posing a fire hazard.

Ordering immediate removal of unwanted furniture and almirahs,the spokesman said the furniture which was not in a usable condition should be shifted to administrative officer-1 and 2 for replacement. The almirahs issued to the employees should be placed by them in their rooms. If any employee failed to implement these instructions during the given period of seven days then their almirahs would be shifted to the cycle stand,he added.
