Yet another high drama happened at the Government Multi-Specialty Hospital,Sector 16,when the family members of a patient who died at the hospital early in the morning on Thursday alleged negligence on the part of the hospital authorities.
According to sources,Parvez,an 18-year-old youngster from Nayagaon,was brought to the Emergency wing of the hospital after midnight when he complained of stomach pain.
Following this,doctors started his treatment and gave him injection and medicines. He died about 5.45 am.
Sources say that initially,the family members took the body home as they said that they did not suspect any foul play. Later,about 8 am,Sonu,the brother of the deceased,returned with about two dozen persons and started creating a ruckus in the hospital levelling allegations of negligence on the part of the nurses and doctors.
The hospital staff then called the police and medical superintendent Dr Rajiv Vadera asked the family members to bring back the body so that a post-mortem could be done to ascertain the cause of the death for familys satisfaction.
To this,the family said no and gave in writing that they do not want any post-mortem done. However,in order to ensure justice, the hospital authorities formed a committee to look into the facts,which will give its report in a weeks time.
