GMADA gears up to develop Aerotropolis by April 2025
The work allotted at an approximate cost of Rs 195 crores would be completed by April 2025.

In a bid to develop its massive 5,500-acre township project Aerotropolis by April 2025, Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) has kicked off the developmental works. The authority has allotted the tender for the development of grid roads in pockets A, B, C and D of the project.
The work allotted at an approximate cost of Rs 195 crores would be completed by April 2025. GMADA’s Chief Administrator Rajiv Kumar Gupta said that the development authority would develop the Aerotropolis project over approximately 5,500 acres of land in different phases.
He added that in the first phase, grid roads would be laid in around 1,650 acres and work of development of internal roads in this area would be taken up in the next phase. The area so developed would be put to residential, commercial, and institutional use.
Detailing further about the scope of work of the allotted tender, Gupta said that M/s SBEIPL-HRG (JV) has been awarded the work. The company would develop the grid roads of different pockets provisioned in the project. The completion of this work would provide a shape to the project and pave the way for further construction activities inside it.
“Being a composite work, the contractor would be required to lay the services to the nature of civil, public health, and electrical, said the chief administrator. As all the services would be laid simultaneously, this would ensure planned development in the project,” he said.
Terming Aerotropolis a prestigious project of the development authority, the chief administrator said that modern infrastructure would be provided in the project and the occupants would enjoy nature-friendly and luxurious surroundings. The project is in proximity to the international airport as well as adjacent to the already-developed Aero City and IT City townships of GMADA.
