Girls cricket tourney from August 18

The Chandigarh Women's Cricket Association will organise Sub-Junior State Women’s Cricket Championship for Under-16 for Kailash Bahl Trophy from August 18 to be played at I.S.

The Chandigarh Women’s Cricket Association (CWCA) will organise Sub-Junior State Women’s Cricket Championship for Under-16 for Kailash Bahl Trophy from August 18 to be played at I.S.Dev Samaj Senior Secondary School,Sector 21,Chandigarh. Interested teams should send their entries to Govind (9463961530) or Deepak Sood (9417557601) at I.S.Dev Samaj School,Sector 21,Chandigarh by August 16. Players born on or after 1.1.1995 can take part in the tournament. The association also plans to uplift women’s cricket by opening cricket centers in Chandigarh in the coming months.

Gurdeep stars in Shri Shri Academy win
Riding high on Gurdeep Singh’s blazing century (111 runs off 58 balls),Shri Shri Cricket Academy,Panchkula defeated Kundan Cricket Academy by 20 runs in the second semi-final of the 1st KCT Cricket Tournament (Under-12) held at Kundan Cricket Academy,Sector 46,on Monday. Batting first,Shri Shri Academy made 178 for 2 in 20 overs. Gurdeep’s ton included eight fours and equal number of sixes. Suraj took three wickets. In reply,KCA made 158 for 8 in 20 overs. Shubham Gill top scored with 86 runs. —ENS
