Gang that stole Harbhajan’s laptop,bag nabbed

The Haryana Police finally succeeded in arresting three members of a gang which were allegedly involved in stealing a laptop and a bag,containing valuable documents from the vehicle of Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh on December 22 from outside a coffee bar on NH-1. The three arrested were identified as: Michael,the kingpin of the gang and his accomplices Sanjay and Ashish.

According to Karnal police,all three are residents of Ambedkar Nagar,South Delhi and usually committed thefts from vehicles on NH-1. The accused have confessed to committing seven thefts of a similar nature by breaking car windowpanes and stealing valuables.

Karnal Police,Crime Branch division nabbed the three accused on a tip-off. During their preliminary interrogation,the accused revealed that they used to come towards Karnal,from Delhi with a specific purpose of committing thefts from vehicles parked outside eating joints on NH-1. “We have also recovered a stolen Maruti Alto from the possession of the accused. Michael is in our custody while his accomplices have been remanded to judicial custody,” said ASI Surinder Singh,who led the team which nabbed the trio.
