A dispute over fuel payment at Bains Service Station, located on Ambala Road, Zirakpur, escalated into a violent clash late Sunday night. A Swiggy delivery boy along with six unidentified youths allegedly thrashed a petrol pump employee, leaving him seriously injured. Police have registered a case against seven unidentified attackers under sections 115(2), 126(2), 351(2), 191(3), and 190 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and have launched a manhunt to trace the accused. The victim, Amarjeet Yadav, a native of Bihar, has been working at the service station for the past eight to nine years. In his complaint to the police, Amarjeet stated that around 8:30 pm, a motorcycle-borne customer arrived to refuel. The man attempted to make an online payment, which failed, after which he called a friend to settle the bill in cash. However, around 10:15 pm, the same youth returned with six or seven accomplices. They called Amarjeet outside and brutally attacked him. Other staff members intervened to stop the assault and rushed the injured worker to a nearby private hospital for treatment. Police officials said they are reviewing CCTV footage from the petrol station and nearby areas to identify the suspects involved in the attack.
