Four held in 2 incidents of snatching and robbery in Chandigarh

The Chandigarh Police has arrested four persons in two separate incidents of snatching and robbery reported from Mani Majra and in Sector 39 area.

In the first case, a snatching incident was reported from Labour Chowk, Mani Majra, on October 22, 2025. The complainant, Sunil, a resident of New Darshani Bagh, stated that around 5.30 pm, two unidentified youths came on a motorcycle and snatched his bag containing Rs 60,000 in cash and an Aadhaar card before fleeing. On the basis of technical and field investigation, both accused were identified and later arrested. An FIR was registered at Mani Majra police station.

In another incident, a robbery took place near the Sports Complex, Sector 56, on October 24, 2025, when the complainant, Deepak, was robbed at knifepoint by a group of men identified as Jasbir, Deepak, Sunny, Ali, and Ravi. The accused took away his purse containing Rs 400, an Aadhaar card, and a PAN card. Acting swiftly, the police arrested two of the accused. An FIR was registered at Sector 39 police station.

Police officials said that both cases are under investigation, and efforts are underway to trace the remaining accused and recover the stolen property.
