Senior lawyer M L Sarin, secretary of the foundation, has sought permission to be impleaded as party in the PIL filed by Advocate Aalok Jagga. The senior lawyer has sought permission to intervene in the case to assist the Court. The application has been filed in the High Court.
Trustees of the foundation, including Justice S S Sodhi (retd),Jagesh Khaitan,Vice President and Managing Director,Amrit Banaspati Company have submitted in the application that they have been living in the city for the past three decades and are concerned about the city.
The Foundation has submitted,in the application, that their counsel,M L Sarin will argue on the pleadings already made in the case and that no separate pleadings will be filed by them. The PIL is slated to come up for resumed hearing on February 14. On the last date of hearing,to prove that the land in Kansal,on which the much controversial Tata Camelot Housing Project is to come up,is a controlled area, the Chandigarh Administration had produced a copy of the notification issued by the Punjab government in 1953.
The notification was produced in the High Court by the UT Administration to firmly refute the claim by Tata Housing, wherein the developer had contended that the project land was never notified as controlled area.
Newsline was the first to report the reply of Chandigarh Administration wherein it had vehemently demanded scrapping of the Camelot housing project.
