Five cases of thefts,robbery registered

Five cases of thefts and robbery were registered in the city on Friday.

In the first case,a man was robbed of his purse on Thursday. The complainant,Pargad Sood,a resident of Akhara Bazar,Kullu,alleged that Sector 40 resident Mandeep alias Gifti robbed his purse containing Rs 500 and identity card from him at knifepoint near Booth Market,Sector 40. The accused has been arrested and a case registered against him at the Sector 39 police station.

In a separate incident,Raj Kumar,who runs a fitness club in Dhanas,alleged that Rakesh Kumar and Mani were caught stealing gym plates from his club on Thursday. Both the accused are residents of Dhanas. The accused have been arrested and a case of theft and recovery of stolen items has been registered against them at the Sector 11 police station.

A Hallomajra resident was caught while stealing from outside a house in Hallomajra. The accused identified as Sonu Kumar has been arrested and a case has been registered at the Sector 31 police station.

In another case of theft,unidentified persons stole a mobile phone,BlackBerry tablet,gold jewellery,Rs 10,000 cash and car keys from a house in Sector 18 on Thursday. Police have registered a case of theft at the Sector 19 police station.

The tyres of a car parked in front of a Sector 23 house were also reported to be stolen.
