Fake surgical equipment supplier on run

The Crime Branch team of Chandigarh Police,which had gone to Delhi to look for the supplier of the fake surgical material to the city-based Kumar Brothers and Jindal Associates,has returned empty-handed.

The Crime Branch officials said the Delhi-based supplier Sandeep Kumar was absconding and the Delhi Police have been asked to help track the accused.

Meanwhile,the UT police are not ruling out the possibility of the duplicate surgical items racket being run in other cities as well,and added Sandeeps arrest could provide essential clues in the racket. SP City Madhur Verma said the arrest of the supplier would bring important breakthrough in the case now. According to the city-based chemists caught by the police,Sandeep used to supply them the drugs under the fake labels of Johnson and Johnson Healthcare Limited. The Crime Branch had caught Varinder Kumar of Kumar Brothers,and Navdeep of Jindal Associates,on November 10 on the charges of storing and selling spurious surgical material. Ashwani Kumar,one of the owners of Kumar Brothers,has got anticipatory bail in the case.
