Ex-BJP member ‘threatened’ for joining Congress

Jagdeep Singh alias Lucky,who claims to be the senior vice-president of the Mohali district unit of the BJP,had made the announcement in the presence of Union Tourism Minister Ambika Soni at a rally in Mohali on Sunday.

According to Lucky’s mother Manjeet Kaur,more than ten armed people,five of whom she identified,forcibly entered their house on Monday evening,investigating officer Assistant Sub-Inspector Raghwinder Singh told Newsline.

Lucky was not at home at the time of the incident. Kaur said the assailants told her that they wanted to teach Lucky a lesson for leaving the BJP. Before leaving,Kaur told the police,the assailants threatened to eliminate Lucky if he did not return to the BJP fold.

The IO said the assailants left Lucky’s house without causing any injury or loss to property.

The police have registered a case under Sections 452,148 and 149 of the IPC and Sections 25,27,54 and 59 of the Arms Act against Harpreet Singh Toor of Sector 69,Kuldeep Singh of Dharamgarh,Amaninder Singh of Kumbra,Jatinder Singh of Saneta,Ramandeep Singh of Saidpura and their other accomplices. No arrests had been made till the filing of this report.
