The counsel representing Chautala has now sought time to decide further regarding the case.

Police on Monday told HC that an FIR has been registered at Uchana police station regarding the threat call and the matter is under investigation. One additional person was attached as a gunman on temporary basis in addition to two gunmen already provided to him till the completion of polls, the reply further said.

The government further said that an exercise was carried out last month by the CID to ascertain threat perception to Chautala. “The units concerned have intimated that no fresh threat exists to the petitioner except the threat mentioned in the representation dated October 15,” reads the reply.

Advocate R Kartikeya Iyer, who appeared on behalf of Chautala, sought time to seek instructions after receiving a copy of the government reply. The matter has been adjourned for February 6, 2020.
