The Election Commission (EC) on Sunday revised the overall voter turnout figure of Punjab to 62.80 per cent from 55.65 per cent reported on Saturday. However, the revised figure is still lower than the 65.96 per cent voter turnout registered during the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.
The highest voter turnout in the state this time has been recorded in Bathinda (69.36 per cent).
Among other constituencies which recorded relatively higher voter turnout are Ferozepur (67.02 per cent), Gurdaspur (66.76 per cent), and Sangrur (64.63 per cent). The lowest voter turnout of 56.06 per cent was registered in Amritsar.
Khadoor Sahib recorded 62.55 per cent voter turnout while the figure stood at 59.70 per cent in Jalandhar, 58.86 per cent in Hoshiarpur, 61.98 per cent in Anandpur Sahib, 60.12 per cent in Ludhiana, 62.53 per cent in Fatehgarh Sahib, 63.34 per cent in Faridkot, and 63.63 per cent in Patiala.
All 13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab went to the polls on June 1. The results will be out on June 4.
