In other matches,Uttkarsh Bhardwaj of Uttranchal and Diviansh Pandey of Punjab qualified for the main draw beating Gurdil Khera 5-4 (7),4-2 and Prateek Sharma of Chandigarh 4-1,4-1 respectively.

In the U-12 boys matches,Chandigarh’s Harish Sanjam,Himanshu Bansal,Prabhman Thapar,Sidharth Kapoor and Arman Singh prevailed over their opponents to qualify in the main draw. Meanwhile,it was double whammy for Sabrang Sandal who after winning his U-14 qualifying round match,won his U-12 match too beating Sidharth Meena of Uttranchal 4-2,1-4,4-2.

According to Devinder Kapoor,all boys and girls U-14 and U-12 main draw matches will be played Monday onwards.

Kulbeer fashions DAV-8 win
A free-flowing knock of 79 from Kulbeer Singh helped DAV Senior Secondary School ,Sector 8,record a huge 141-run win over CM XI during the Saint Soldier Trophy Cricket Tournament for Under-14 being organised by Bharti Vij Academy at the Saint Soldier International School ground in Sector 28 on Sunday.

Batting first,DAV made 226 for 8 in 20 allotted overs. Kulbeer’s hurricane knock of 79 came in just 28 deliveries with the help of six four and eight sixes. In reply,CM XI could muster only 85 for 8 in stipulated 20 overs. Ashish Thakur picked up three wickets for just six runs to help the team record an emphatic victory. Meanwhile,the match between MCA-YPS and Shree Shree Academy was ruined by rain and they got one point each after the match was called off. Batting first,Shree Shree made 137 for 6 in 20 overs. In reply,MCA-YPS were 42 for 1 in 5 overs before rain prevented further play.
