A derogatory remark against Yoga guru Ramdev was posted on social media platform X from the official handle of Border Security Force (BSF) Punjab Frontier on Tuesday following which the BSF Frontier HQs expressed its regret. A clip of Baba Ramdev milking a female donkey and drinking it while extolling its good properties had been shared by a new channel on its account on X in response to which a post was made from the official handle of the BSF Punjab Frontier handle which mocked Ramdev in a derogatory manner. The post remained on the official page of the Punjab Frontier handle on X for nearly an hour before it was deleted even as other social media users commented on it and tagged the Ministry of Home Affairs and Union Minister for Home Affairs on their official handles on X. Later in the evening, the BSF posted a clarification on X saying that its official account on X had been temporarily compromised. “We wish to inform you that our official X.com account @BSF_Punjab was temporarily compromised by unauthorised individuals during the day, resulting in the posting of the content that does not align with the Force's values. The breach was detected promptly, and control of the account was regained. The issue has been resolved, and we deeply regret any distress or confusion caused by the unauthorised posts,” read the BSF post on X.
