Deputy CM extends invite to industry

After inaugurating a four-day trade fair,Destination Punjab-2011,organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in association with the state government,Sukhbir said that the state would provide best infrastructure to the industry. “We are focusing on the core needs of industry – power,infrastructure and technically skilled manpower – and are progressing very well in all the directions,” he said.

The trade fair has around 120 exhibitors putting on display items ranging from farm equipment,implements and machinery to machine tools,leather and sports goods. Major companies like Tata Motors,Mahindra & Mahindra ,Rail Coach factory,New Holland Fiat, Eastman Cast & Forge Ltd are participating in the trade fair.

Kamna Raj Aggarwala,Chairperson,CII Punjab state council,said the trade fair has has been designed as a platform for the business world to interact and forge partnerships and bring forth newer investments and entrepreneurship opportunities to Punjab.
