Cop succumbs to injuries,youth killed in accident

A UT Police Head Constable,posted at the Sector 61 Police Post,on Tuesday succumbed to injuries suffered in a road accident last week.

A UT Police Head Constable,posted at the Sector 61 Police Post,on Tuesday succumbed to injuries suffered in a road accident last week. The deceased has been identified as Head Constable Tarlochan Singh,50.

The incident had taken place on May 29 around 11 pm,when Singh was returning on his motorcycle from Sector 61 Police Post to his house in Sector 26 Police Lines.

When he reached the Sector 44/45 dividing road,an unidentified vehicle hit his motorcycle and fled. He suffered severe head injuries and was spotted by a passer-by who informed the police. He was rushed to GMCH-32 where he had been receiving treatment for the past week.

Singh is survived by his wife and two children.

In a separate case on Monday,Pradeep,22,a resident of Sector 30,was killed when his motorcycle was hit by an unidentified vehicle. The incident occurred near the dividing road of Sector 29/30. He was rushed to GMSH-32 where he was declared dead on arrival. A case has been registered.
