The policeman,who was held guilty of sexually abusing a teenager on Wednesday,was sentenced to four years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 50,000 was slapped on him by the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Raj Shekhar Attri,on Thursday.
Assistant Sub-Inspector Dalwinder Singh had been under suspension since November 2008,when he was accused by a minor boy.
Singh had reportedly taken the boy to his home on the night of November 28,2008 and had sexually abused the teenager.
He was posted at the Sector-26 police station at the time of the incident.
The victim had alleged that Singh had forced him to sit pillion on his motorcycle when he was waiting at a bus shelter in Sector 30 that night around 10.30 pm.
Singh had then taken the boy to his home in Sector 20 and threatened to shoot him if he did not pay heed to his demands.
Subsequently,he abused the teenager and dropped him back home after a few hours.
Subsequently,the boy later narrated the incident to his parents and a case was lodged under Sections 342,377 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code against the policeman.
