Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee has submitted a written complaint to the State Election Commission, objecting to its alleged partisan act of withdrawing an election symbol, rose, without consultations with all political parties. Congress spokesperson Kuldeep Rathaur said the election symbol of rose has been withdrawn under pressure from the ruling BJP. It is a matter of regret that the main political party was not taken into confidence and the symbol was withdrawn in an unconstitutional way. The exercise has made the entire election process a farce. The election commission should maintain its impartiality and should not act under pressure of the state government, said Rathaur.
