Mohali’s Garam Masala spreads out a sizzler and kebab collection

With the weather still nippy,a sizzler and kebab festival seems well-timed. Spreading out their specials is the Mohali-based restaurant Garam Masala with an exhaustive range of kebabs and sizzlers. Browsing through the menu offering the collection of kebabs, one is impressed with the elaborate vegetarian line-up on offer. In fact,it quite takes the attention off the non-vegetarian fare at the festival. Paneer Ka Soola— grilled cubes of paneer layered with Jaipuri red chilli chutney, dipped in a spiced yoghurt marinade is a treat for the taste buds, while lovers of cottage cheese will appreciate the Multani Paneer Ke Tukde. The Hariyali Subz Aur Matar Ki Seekh— soft seekh kebabs made from spinach blended with green peas and fresh herbs is a must-try,as is the Hyderabadi speciality,Subz Shikampuri kebab made from vegetable mince stuffed with cream cheese.

The non-vegetarian array brings in regular tandoori favourites like Murg Galauti kebab,Kheemey Ki  Seekh and a highway treat — Bhatti Da Sabut Murg. Apart from the Punjabi staples there’s also a sampling of North-West Frontier cuisine with the likes of Pashtooni Murg Chop,a barbeque special. While the kebabs impress you with their variety, the sizzlers are not as inviting. The kebabs are priced between Rs 160 to Rs 525 (the Prawn kebabs being the pricey ones),the sizzlers come for as little as Rs 165.

The food festival is on till February 28.
