The UT police submitted a detailed chargesheet in the court on Friday with regard to a fake currency racket,which was unearthed in the state in June.
The chargesheet is against alleged ISI agent Savinder Kaur and three others Raj Kumar Gill,Yudhvir Singh and Ravi Kumar alias Nona.
Besides charges of possessing and using counterfeit currency,the chargesheet also accuses them of forgery,cheating and theft of vehicles.
According to the chargesheet filed by the UT police,Savinder used to purchase fake currency with face value of Rs 1 lakh for Rs 40,000 from her counterparts in Pakistan.
She would sell these notes to the other accused,Yodha Singh,for Rs 55,000.
Yodha would further sell them for Rs 65,000.
The chargesheet was filed after the local branch of Reserve Bank of India (RBI),Sector 17,confirmed that the seized currency notes were fake.
Bhupinder Singh,SHO,Sector-31 police station,confirmed that the chargesheet had been filed.
The racket was busted on June 25 with the arrest of Raj Kumar Gill.
A stolen car bearing a Punjab registration number was also recovered from Raj Kumar Gill.
His interrogation further led to the arrest of Yudhvir Singh and Ravi Kumar.
Savinder was arrested on August 2.
Fake currency notes with the face value of Rs 4.52 lakhs were recovered from her possession.
Teams of the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and National Investigation Agency (NIA) also helped the UT police in cracking the case.
According to the police,the arrests could lead to more clues in the cases of fake currency in the state.
