A petition seeking quashing and setting aside of the order of Chief Administrator, Chandigarh, which makes the installation of solar photo voltaic power plant mandatory for residential and non-residential buildings in Chandigarh, has been filed at the Punjab and Haryana High Court. The matter is yet to come up for hearing.
The petition has been filed by Kulvir Narwal through advocate Rohit Sud.
The petitioner has submitted that the order of office of Chief Administrator, Chandigarh, dated May18, 2016, published in the Chandigarh Administration Gazette Extraordinary making the installation of solar photo voltaic power plant mandatory for residential and non-residential buildings in Chandigarh is without any legal sanction or authority; besides, being illegal, arbitrary and in colourable exercise of power on the part of the then Chief Administrator, Chandigarh Administration.
The petition also sought to stay operation, implementation and effect of the order during the pendency of the present writ petition.
