Chandigarh, Kalka, Mohali railway stations to be redeveloped under new scheme

CHANDIGARH, KALKA and Mohali railway stations are among 508 railway stations selected for redevelopment under Amrit Bharat Station Scheme flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually Sunday.

The flag-off ceremony was attended by many dignitaries at Chandigarh railway station. Other stations under Ambala division to be covered under this scheme are Patiala, Dhuri, Sangrur, Sirhind, Anandpur Sahib, Rupnagar, Malerkotla, Ambala Cantt, Amb Andaura, Yamuna Nagar Jagadhri, Abohar and Saharanpur Jn.

A spokesman said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for redevelopment of 508 railway stations across India via video conferencing today.

The stations are to be revamped under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. A total of 71 stations in Northern Railway are to be modernised. Events were held at almost all stations in the state.”
