Chandigarh Golf Academy inaugurated

The Chandigarh Golf Club Academy was inaugurated by international golfer Jeev Milkha Singh at the Chandigarh Golf Club on Sunday.

The Chandigarh Golf Club Academy was inaugurated by international golfer Jeev Milkha Singh at the Chandigarh Golf Club on Sunday. The academy has been set up to train youngsters in the region right from the start and will also cater to the demands of coaching in present scenario.

“I am very pleased to see the new academy come up at my home course. It is great to see the Chandigarh Golf Club take initiative in improving its learning facilities for all levels of golfers. It will be a huge incentive for the young golfers and I am sure more and more talented golfers will come from the academy. Youngsters in the city are very keen on learning golf and this venture will provide them the best opportunity,” said Jeev. Birinder Gill,president of the club was also present during the inauguration of the academy and said that the club will take more steps to improve standards at the club. “Renowned foreign consultants David Hemstock and Nic Davies will be advising the CGC on course improvement matters for the next six months and in case their advice is good,then they shall be asked to make a five-year long roll on plan for course upkeep and improvement,” informed Gill. Jeev sounded confident that the tie-up will prove to be a step in right direction. “The tie up with foreign consultants is a step in the right direction and will immensely benefit Chandigarh Golf Club to keep its course maintained at the highest level,” said Jeev. Harmeet Kahlon,director of the academy and Ajay Gujral,joint director of the academy,were also present during the opening ceremony.
